We have all seen Pete's Black Schecter Telecaster (also listed on this site) and also his Gold Top version on the Who's Farewell Tour in '82 and Live Aid '84, this rare Schecter Townshend model is in Torino Red with gold hardware.
This guitar is in excellent condition and has a stunning glass-like surface finish. As Pete himself has commented back in '82, “These Schecter guitars are superbly made and easy to play and they sound glorious…....Don't be fooled by imitations of old guitars, these Schecters are unique!”
Here are the specifications for this fine instrument; COLOR: Red with Single Cream Binding, BODY: Alder, NECK: 1-Piece Maple, U Profile, MACHINE HEADS: Sperzel Locking Tuners (like Pete's), SCALE LENGTH: 25.5 (648 mm), NO. OF FRETS: 22 Frets, NECK and BRIDGE PICKUPS: Schecter Monster Tone Super Rock II (like Pete's), CONTROLS: Schecter Push/Pull Master Volume (wired for Series/Parallel functionality in the neck pickup) and Master Tone (wired for coil splitting functionality in the bridge pickup) this is the way Pete has his wired, BRIDGE: Schecter Tele Bridge with 6 Saddles in gold, PICKUP SWITCHING: 3-Position Toggle: Position 1: Bridge Pickup 2. Bridge and Neck Pickup 3. Neck Pickup, HARDWARE: Gold, UNIQUE FEATURES: U- Shape Maple Neck, Townshend wiring.
The volume push/pull pot is wired to switch the neck pickup between series and parallel and the tone push/pull pot is wired to split the bridge pickup, though Pete rarely uses these functions. The straight neck is made from a solid piece of beautiful maple (see photos closely), fretwear is minimal and the body has an incredible shine. There are very few blemishes on the guitar and they are minimal (see Guitar Pics). They dont take away from the beauty of this fine instrument. In a single word, this guitar rocks!! And if you are a Pete Townshend fanatic (we proudly are!), this guitar is for you!
EMS Shipping to North America/Australia is $89, Europe $99.
